Celent is an international research and advisory firm dedicated to helping leading financial institutions create and sustain competitive advantage. We offer two primary services: research, providing members with a retained advisory service that includes access to our analysts, reports and knowledge-base; and strategy consulting, working with clients on specific opportunities ad challenges related to the strategic application of technology to their propositions and business models. Celent’s target market is the world’s top financial institutions, encompassing banks, insurers, securities firms, as well as firms providing services to those institutions, such as technology vendors.
Research: Celent analysts conduct research and publish reports on the opportunities and issues relevant to the global wealth and asset management industry. This includes tracking and predicting future trends, helping clients understand how emerging technologies can be deployed for strategic advantage within propositions and operating models, navigating the commercial technology landscape, and understanding how technology can ease regulatory compliance. Research reports are available exclusively to our clients on a subscription basis. Celent’s research forms part of a retained advisory service, where our clients have access to our analysts, reports and knowledge base to allow them to rapidly make informed decisions. A sample of recent research topics include the API ecosystem, application of AI, evolution of the advisor desktop, and evaluating technology vendors using Celent’s proprietary analysis framework.
Strategy Consulting: Celent analysts also work directly with our clients to address strategy issues. Our strategy-consulting clients include top financial services firms as well as consultancies, fintech firms, venture capitalists, and technology vendors that serve the financial services industry. Some of the projects we have conducted for clients have included the creation of an architectural road map for client onboarding for a major Canadian bank, the development of an electronic trading strategy for a European exchange, a competitive analysis of digital advice delivery models for a global Japanese investments house, as well as a review of financial planning technology for a major US brokerage.
In addition to day-to-day writing, research and consulting requirements, and client interaction via Celent’s “analyst access” program, Celent analysts are expected to regularly speak with members of the press and present at conferences. Celent analysts have been quoted extensively in virtually every leading business publication. Analysts also speak at industry conferences and roundtables and make themselves available to research clients to answer questions on a variety of topics.
