ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Supports unique functions within the Spending Account department such as:
    • Client Service Representatives
    • Claims Processors
    • Service Specialists
    • Billing Specialists
  • Act as a Knowledge source for Spending Accounts compliance
  • With manager direction, document and standardize internal procedures (e.g., compliance issues, unusual situations, appeals, workflows for payments, reprints)
  • Serve as liaison between Spending Accounts, Call Center, Benefit Administration and Consulting
  • Team Management
    • Establish metrics to evaluate team performance
    • Track and monitor performance metrics
    • Conduct and document one-on-one employee sessions, progress reports, and annual reviews for Spending Accounts staff.
    • Track and approve time-off requests
  • Serve as a knowledge source for the Spending Accounts staff and assist in issue management and issue escalations
  • Work with the Producers, Account Managers and Team Leaders to develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with clients
  • Provide advice and recommendations to team regarding Spending Accounts compliance related issues as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Respond timely and effectively to any client inquiries, complaints or concerns
  • Develop and implement solutions to client issues
  • Establish quality measures for all Spending Accounts related client data to ensure that it is processed correctly in all Trion systems and is kept up-to date.
  • Assist in developing and providing training on Spending Accounts related procedures to the team
  • Coordinate all activities required to properly implement and service new business
  • Perform additional tasks and special projects, as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience preferred;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Spending Accounts administration;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience leading others (directly or indirectly) while working collaboratively across departments and client teams;
  • Previous proven experience supervising clients and/or direct reports preferred;
  • Experience with supervisory responsibilities, such as, but not limited to talent selection process, new hire training, employee scheduling management, and performance reviews and goal setting processes preferred;
  • Experience within a Benefits Administration, Health and Welfare consulting, benefits brokerage, human resources consulting, health care, or employee benefits related industry is highly preferred;
  • Related exposure to Benefits Administration, Spending Accounts, HRIS, and/or Payroll environments is highly preferred;
  • Hours must be flexible including the ability to work additional during peak season.


  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects of various complexity simultaneously, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and operate in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Strong project management, project planning and workflow management skills;
  • Skills in coaching, mentoring, teambuilding and motivating others;
  • Proven ability to build rapport while providing superior customer service and maintaining positive relationships with internal teams, direct reports and client contacts;
  • Ability to effectively lead team environments that rely heavily on independent contributions and collaboration;
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive team environment;
  • Ability to establish and cultivate positive relationships with direct reports, and other support areas of the organization, such as Human Resources, Compliance, Account Management, etc.;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills and strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to follow through and successfully execute tasks while adhering to quality standards;
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, Project, and Outlook.
