Our office in Livonia provides risk management solutions that help high net worth individuals and businesses protect against the loss of assets because of sudden casualties. We work with clients to identify potential areas of exposure and recommend solutions to guard against risk. The Account Manager will work directly with Personal Lines Manager, Producers, and other Account Managers for operational support; and is responsible for servicing and retaining existing personal lines clients.  This includes the ability to manage workload by processing daily servicing tasks and respond to customer needs.  Responsibility also includes assisting the personal lines department with the marketing and placement of new & renewal personal accounts in accordance with guidelines, procedures, and objectives of the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Servicing existing book of business and daily tasks.

  • Auto ID Cards – Prepare, print, email/fax to third parties
  • Audits
    • Review renewal policies and endorsements
    • Prepare renewal summaries and letters
  • Billing
    • Assist clients with direct bill questions
    • Monitor cancellation notices/cancel warnings and contact clients when necessary
  • Certificates / Evidence of Insurance
    • Daily Requests – issue daily certificates to mortgage companies and other loss payees
    • Specifications – review 3rd party specifications to determine insurance requirements
  • Cancellation / Reinstatements
    • Process mid-term & flat cancellations and reinstatements
  • Change Request / Endorsements
    • Process change requests and prepare coverage confirmation letters to policyholders
  • Download Processing
    • Daily printing of policy renewals, endorsements, underwriting requests, and other policy documents
    • Daily updating of Sagitta/ImageRight information (claims, customer contacts, etc.)
  • Filing
    • Renewals, endorsements, and other miscellaneous documents
    • Check policies and endorsements for correctness and compliance with coverage requests
  • Handle daily telephone calls in an efficient, courteous manner
    • Service requests from clients, banks, mortgage companies, etc.
    • Contacts referrals from existing customers, outside producers and agency personnel
  • Interpret exposures and recommend coverages based on those exposures.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Marketing and Placement of New and Renewal Business.

  • Participate in team discussions w/producer, account director, and marketing representatives.
    • Policy Renewals
    • Complete pre-renewal summary of insurance
    • Re-market account when necessary
    • Prepare letters and other correspondence to clients
    • Review/discuss options with account executives/directors/clients

  • Marketing/Submissions
    • Set up and maintain the customer file in Sagitta/ImageRight
    • Collect information, prepare applications, binders and files
    • Quote accounts with various insurance companies
    • Complete new business applications
    • Prepare letters and other correspondence to clients
    • Review/discuss options with account executives/directors/clients

  • Proposal Draft
    • Create proposal draft (spreadsheet, letter, etc.)
    • Develop comparisons of terms, conditions and premiums for a variety of insurance carriers and types of insurance
    • Prepare letters and other correspondence to clients
    • Review/discuss options with account executives/directors/clients

  • Binding Accounts
    • Prepare applications
    • Collect premiums
    • Submit bind requests to carriers
    • Prepare certificates, auto id cards, etc. to send to clients

  • Policy Assembly/Checking for Accuracy
    • Coordinate the policy assembly & coverage summary
    • Review discrepancies and request changes if applicable
    • Draft review letters to send to clients

Pursue a program of personal and professional development.

  • Corporate Learning Program

    • Participate in learning initiatives as required in the corporate learning program through MMA

  • License and Designations

    • Obtain and maintain Property & Casualty Insurance License.  Life & Health License preferred.

    • Obtain miscellaneous insurance and risk management designations including Licensed Insurance Counselor (LIC), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Associate in Personal Insurance (API).

    • Continuing education required for maintaining licensing and designations with approval from your supervisor

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • College degree preferred.
  • Prior insurance experience preferred. 
  • Must be a self-starter, be able to work under extreme pressure, multi-task, be detail oriented and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively at all levels is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Proven ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet and carrier websites preferred.
