Mercer’s wealth team provides customised advice at every stage of the investment decision, risk management and investment monitoring process to pension funds and other institutional investors. Mercer's global Responsible Investment (RI) team is a specialist team that advises clients directly and indirectly, in supporting Mercer’s research and field consultants, to adopt responsible ownership practices and incorporate environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors into all aspects of investment governance and strategy.
Working most closely with the RI team members in London the RI Analyst role will involve both analytical and communication contributions with a wide range of internal and external contacts, at all levels. Whilst based in London, the role will require interaction with consultants, researchers and clients around the globe and particularly across Europe.

Responsible investment is a rapidly developing area, and the focus for integrating ESG and sustainability themes has an increased focus at Mercer and within our client base.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assisting with developing appropriate responsible investment strategies for clients, drafting reports, presentations and letters as appropriate.
Assisting more experienced analysts and consultants in preparation for client meetings and supporting actions / implementation.
Attending client meetings as well as fielding and responding to queries from clients and prospects in a timely manner.
Liaising with other teams within Mercer Wealth and across Mercer business segments.
Contributing to Mercer’s RI intellectual capital development and research processes.
Providing support on business development and global RI operations as required.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
level knowledge in Responsible Investment, ESG, Sustainability and an eagerness
to learn and keep up to date with the industry and market conditions.
Bachelor (or higher) degree in finance, economics, mathematics or other business-related areas with strong quantitative and analytical course content.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as reliable technical and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and professionalism.
Strong planning and organisational skills, to prioritise tasks and manage resources within a deadline oriented environment.
Ability to work well as part of a team, openly sharing information and expertise, demonstrate initiative and build good working relationships locally and globally.
Takes ownership for work; always ensuring standards and deadlines are met and keeping others informed and up-to-date.
Ability to maintain a sustainable and beneficial work-life balance.
Background in investment consulting or asset management.
Willingness to complete IMC and CFA exams (Mercer offers a comprehensive study package to support this).
