Senior Cat Modeller / Catastrophe Analyst

What can you expect?

This position is for a recognized subject matter expert in Catastrophe Risk Management, who manages large projects or processes. This position provides overall project management and reviews for complex catastrophe analyses, using data or analyses that have been prepared by project team members. This position also effectively communicates with clients to build client relationships, deliver final reports and project findings, address complex project challenges, and to make recommendations for managing catastrophe risk.

We will rely on you to:

  • Manages client relationships, resolves complicated questions and challenges, and guides staff members in client interactions.
  • Works with senior staff to develop business by identifying potential areas of business growth, such as profitability analytics, in existing projects.
  • Prepares summaries, presentations and reports for complex client projects in order to summarize potential risks and loss results and to make recommendations to the client about how they can improve their portfolio.
  • Develops expert-level knowledge in certain region-based or peril-based areas of catastrophe risk management services through research or experience in order to advance professionally and gain recognition as an expert in the industry.
  • Advise on risk, growth, volatility based on client needs and industry trends to help clients mitigate risk.
  • Reviews complex analyses completed by project team members involving catastrophe risk models and evaluates the resulting data sets in order to calculate the client’s risk exposure
  • Manages complex, highly-customized, or multi-national quantitative analysis projects by delegating to project team members in order to calculate risk exposure and potential loss that may occur due to natural and man-made catastrophes.
  • Lead internal projects or client work through the utilisation of any level of team member
  • Creates and develops client solutions given client needs in respect of key areas such as risk, growth and volatility.
  • Support the reinsurance transaction process including considering pricing, reserving and capital where appropriate.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Able to work effectively in multi-disciplined teams
  • Excllent communication skills and experience; verbal and written
  • Track record of leading teams, managing complex technical and business issues, and attracting, maintaining, and developing talent
  • Ability to lead client projects, making decisions as necessary
  • Ability to develop good client relationships
