We have an immediate opening for a full-time Research Officer or Economic Analyst to join our Energy, Environment, Communications and Infrastructure practice in Madrid. Responsibilities may include analysis of financial market data; designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; collecting market, industry, company, and competitor information; reviewing, summarizing and analyzing industry trends; managing large data sets and writing programs to implement complex analysis; creating trial exhibits; drafting memos, expert reports and presentation materials; and participating in team meetings and conference calls. This is a team-based, multi-task environment that requires precision work that is both qualitative and quantitative often with tight deadlines.
Candidates should hold a BA/BSc as well as a Masters or PhD, from a top tier university, in economics, finance or a related field with exceptional analytical skills and strong academic records. Coursework and/or experience in finance, accounting, economics, applied maths, statistics is desirable. Qualified candidates must be detail-orientated and have the ability to think analytically and critically, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Business fluency in English and Spanish is essential and other European languages would be an advantage.
