About the Role:
Reporting to the Data Quality and Business Improvement Leader, this role supports and facilitates the implementation and execution of the Mercer Data Quality strategy. The role is the key custodian responsible for the accuracy and integrity of data quality validations to uphold their importance as the source of truth and foundation to data issue management and analytics. The analysis and findings of the Data Quality Lead will be used to expose data trends, enhance detective and preventative controls, and facilitate the making of fact based decisions to mitigate risks across the organisation.
- Evolve, enhance and align data quality business rules for all clients and own tactical deployment of this framework
- Using analysis capability, identify preventative initiatives and support execution of these recommendations across the organisation
- Review and assess data quality outputs and identify solutions for containment, working with business SMEs as required
- Triage issues and work with the incidents team regarding remediation activities, and support root cause assessment
- Analyse and evaluate data to identify business improvement opportunities to alleviate where pain points/root cause issues lie, cost factors rise and where there is room for improvement
- Assess data quality against client SLA criteria and determine ways to improve on internal data capabilities
Recognised as an expert in Data Quality, you are someone who consults with internal business leaders to provide insight, answers and services to meet data quality services and support SLAs. You have a sound understanding of data quality and risk management principles which has been gained in the superannuation industry, coupled with a solid understanding of databases and query languages, particularly a strong background using SQL. In addition, you are able to analyse data, identify trends, conduct root cause assessment and develop/articulate remedial, preventative and business improvement initiatives through liaison with a range of stakeholders. Finally, you have completed tertiary qualifications in a related field and ideally possess a Diploma in Superannuation that allows you to provide deeper value-add advice regarding process, controls and superannuation administration matters.
