The Italy Controller is responsible for the preparation and management of all controller operations for Italy – 6 legal entities.
1 - Ensure that financial results for local legal entities are accurate. Oversees and is responsible for the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting activities, all statutory fillings and local tax matters. P&L, Balance sheet and cash flow statements are also in accordance with US GAAP Ensure that all reconciliations are completed in a timely fashion and provide sign-off on the work done. Coordinate global and regional requests.
2 - Provide assistance to Regional Management / Boards on local projects and regulatory and statutory / tax responsibilities. Liaises with internal and external auditors and subject matter experts.
3 - Responsible for the overall control environment for the sub-region, ensuring all policies and procedures are being followed and looking to establish strong efficient process and compliance to policies. Given the fiduciary accounting requirements, a solid ability to document and evaluate processes, systems and compliance is required including a mindset for continuous improvement.
4 - Responsible for the effective operational management of the Italian team, looking at capacity planning, prioritization, career development and staff well-being. Positive attitude, inclusive working style and effective communication skills are essential.
5 - The role will require a degree of travel to Warsaw & Witham, both to ensure strong stakeholder engagement, Hub relationship management, review of processes and controls necessary to ensure smooth operations between the country and the hub.
6 - The role will have a degree of project-based work, be it system implementations, business projects, entity projects, control projects, execution of global / regional strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or the equivalent is required.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / CPA).
- Minimum 10+ years experience in all phases of the controllership process;
- min 3-5 years supervisory experience;
- at least 8-10 years PQE.
- Understanding of Oracle Financials: GL and Hyperion Essbase; Experience with insurance practice accounting and controllership environment, as applicable.Knowledge of the Fiduciary environment a plus;
- Knowledge of Italian & US GAAP.
