Mercer’s US Health and Benefits strategy team supports the business’s leaders in evaluating the market, setting the strategy and executing on key business priorities. We are seeking an associate/senior associate to join our team.

As the Strategy Associate/Sr Associate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating market trends, competitors and legislation to understand how it may impact our business.
  • Analyzing our business to understand our key strengths and weaknesses.
  • Exposure to the senior-most leaders of the business to help them set the business strategy. Work on key projects to execute that strategy.

To be successful, you should:

  • Be highly detail-oriented and able to take a proactive, consultative approach towards analyzing problems, developing recommendations and delivering information to our internal stakeholders.
  • Be exceptional at drawing conclusions from data, thinking strategically, and interpreting and presenting your findings.
  • Have at least three to five years’ experience in a consulting role; Health experience preferred.

You will assist in developing and communicating the business’s strategic plan and top priorities to colleagues in the business and other key stakeholders across the company, including Mercer’s Executive leadership team.

You’ll work directly with the US Health & Benefits Leader and her team on a variety of topics for internal and external constituents; as well as organize and manage key meetings, town halls and events. This will require strong presentation skills and fluency with PowerPoint and Excel

You will also support Mergers & Acquisitions activity and partnership evaluation across the US Health & Benefits business. This will involve working with the leadership team and other colleagues to develop and manage the M&A and partnership pipeline and evaluating potential M&A and partnership prospects through identification, profiling and leading due diligence meetings.

This position will manage a constantly evolving set of projects, so you should be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and overseeing all aspects of complex projects from start to finish. Timely project delivery is paramount.
