NERA currently has an opening for an Analyst in its Financial Planning & Analysis function in White Plains, NY within walking distance of Metro North commuter railroad. Working collaboratively within the team and across the larger OWG and MMC platform, this position provides business leaders guidance and insight on key finance topics. As a result, members of the team receive significant exposure to the overall business and develop networks and working relationships.  As business needs evolve, the analyst will work on a variety of special projects with a range of opportunities for professional growth. Key responsibilities include:

Monthly Financial Analysis:

  • Review monthly global data to identify and summarize key drivers of revenue and expense variances by business unit and geography
  • Prepare firm’s key performance indicators, including reviewing utilization and associated deployment of consulting staff
  • Prepare monthly summary and detailed expense reporting and analysis to clients
  • Review and research content in monthly business intelligence data to analyze support function expense variances
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial presentation to firm’s CFO
  • Coordinate monthly close with local controllers, ensuring local and consolidated expenses are in line with expectations and ensuring all accruals are adequate
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of business partners, including local offices, OWG and MMC finance colleagues, practice areas, and others

Annual Budgeting:

  • Assist team members, NERA support function Directors and business unit leaders with monthly forecasting as well as annual budget and planning

Special Projects as Needed:

  • Provide support and analysis for special projects such as management of project codes, strategic initiative reporting, human capital data analytics, etc. 
  • Business development monitoring for global practices

Qualified candidates will have aBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Math. 2-5 years of finance-related experience in a consulting or professional services firm is ideal.  Preferred experience with Oracle, Smartview, Oracle EPM, and Hyperion Planning.  OBIEE, Essbase, or BI Tools a plus.  Candidates will be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Successful candidates will be collaborative team-players with strong interpersonal skills and able to independently gather, interpret and analyze information including making assessments and completing reconciliations.  Problem solving and analytical skills are key.  Have comfort with ambiguity and ability to effectively multi-task, take initiative, and prioritize within a fast-paced, demanding environment. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
